Are your sessions confidential?
Yes, anything that you share with me remains confidential. However, if you give me information which leads me to believe that someone including yourself is in danger of any harm, I may need to speak to my Supervisor, your GP or the emergency services as I have a duty of care to protect you against harm to yourself and others. This same rule will apply if you disclose that you may be at risk of harm from others.
Where possible, I will speak to you about any breach of confidentiality that may arise but I need to make you aware if I believe you have or that you maybe involved in any illegal activities, I am not bound to inform you prior to breaching your confidentiality.
